SUNDAY SHIPPERS: McSWAREK
sweetheart, you're not my type.

The first honoree for Sunday Shippers goes to the couple that finally prompted me to take the plunge into creating this online world, Andy McNally and Sam Swarek from Global TV/ABC's Rookie Blue.
Rookie Blue (2010-2015) follows five new rookies as they embark on their destination to becoming coppers of the 15th division in Toronto. It doesn't take long for the viewer to understand the brilliance that will eventually be McSwarek once the rookie meets her future training officer.
good morning, mcnally. you look absolutely ravishing.
From the pilot episode, the first day on the job, Andy, tackles Sam as he's undercover. She tackles him in an alleyway and tries to kiss him (iykyk). By the second episode, butterflies erupt every time these two are on screen. While they almost hook up quickly in the series second episode, it becomes a relief that they don't. Over the course of the first two seasons, Sam becomes Andy's person to rely on. He's there when it matters.

We watch as they completely and totally lean on each other in a way that you can't help but root for them. Even as she ridiculously agrees to marry someone else. But Sam does not waiver, rather, he simply wants to be in Andy's life, in any way, he can.
Like any other couple, they have tremendous ups and downs. Beautiful angst and absolute heart-exploding moments. And in the very last episode of the series, finally, become Mrs. Swarek and Mr. McNally. One for the record books that if you don't know, you're genuinely missing out on.
you get me through the night.
From sweetheart, you're not my type to the forever type of love. Andy McNally and Sam Swarek
are truly one of the best couples on tv both past and present.
i love you, sam. you're my story.
We can't end this without fully crediting the two magnificent actors of Missy Peregrym and Ben Bass. There is no Andy and Sam without these magical humans. The explosive chemistry and an uncanny ability to showcase emotion with just one look. Casting truly captured lightning in a bottle putting these two together.

Watch Rookie Blue for free on the Roku Channel or purchase on Prime Video. You won't regret it.
